Medir uses the freeze dry process in disaster recovery situations. No other process can arrest the deterioration of water damaged documents, books, manuscripts, and cloth goods, then restore them to virtually their original condition by extracting moisture on the cellular level with minimal swelling, warping, or
fading of the material.
Medir has experience of restoring documents that were underwater for weeks and exposed to mud, debris, mold, and other impurities. These documents can either be restored to a state to where they can be imaged or the can be returned to a near original state less any staining by rusted paper clips, staples, mud, etc.
Mold Removal
Mold can trigger allergic reactions & asthma attacks in people allergic to mold. Other molds are known to produce potent toxins and/or irritants. Potential health concerns are an important reason to prevent any existing indoor mold growth. Mold can also destroy documents, and if not treated correctly they can be ruined.
In disaster recovery situations, certainly when power is lost and documents are exposed to moisture, mold will begin to form. Medir restores documents with mold to be used again in day-to-day business or restores documents to the point where they can be imaged.
